Anatomy: A trenchant voyage through the body
The students will investigate several organs of the human anatomy. In 2 to 5 days they will study the heart, the lung, the kidney, the digestive system, the reproductive organs, and the central nervous system (brain). All dissections will be carried out in pig organs since these are in size, location, wheight and funbction very similar to human organs.
After a theoretical introduction of 45-60 minutes the students dissect the organs by themselves and thereby gain basic anatomical, physiological, and medical knowledge. Furthermore they learn how to use skalpel and foreceps. In parallel to the dissection physiological experiments (e.g. measuring the blood pressure) will be carried out.
