Terms and Conditions

The experimental courses at XLAB are intended mainly for students of secondary school.
For the implementation of experimental courses XLAB eV is funded to about 50% by the state of Lower Saxony and the University of Gottingen. The rest of the budget is made up of course fees and fund raising for specific projects. The main function of XLAB is to support young scientists in the natural sciences and to contribute and expand the university education teacher trainees in the disciplines of chemistry, physics, computer science and biology through the early and subject-specific contact with students.

An experimentation day in the laboratories of XLAB costs an average of 100, - € per participant.

Because, increasingly also other groups are interested in XLAB experimental courses, it was necessary to revise the tuition fee and set it  specific to the target groups.
 
The fees listed below apply from 1.1.2010. Except for courses already booked.
When you register, please note the general terms and conditions that come into force from 1.1.2010.

• Course fees for classes of high school students
  15, - € per day per student plus script expenses
  180, - € minimum course fee (equivalent to a minimum attendance of 12 students)
  
  
• Course fees for individual high school students
  25, - € per day per student costs including script
  Minimum group size: 12 students
  
  
• Course fees for university students (voluntary participation)
  50, - € per day per student, Incl. Script costs, plus € 2.50 lab coat laundry (only anatomy)
  In case of social hardship 25, - € for students , Incl. Script costs, plus € 2.50 lab coat laundry (only anatomy)
  Minimum group size: 12 students
  
  
• Course fees for individual high school students (Intensive Camps) *
  80, - € per day per student costs including script
  Minimum number of participants: 15 students
  * Camps are usually funded, personal contribution to special announcement
  
  
• Course fees for university students (curricular courses)
  Under special agreement with the participating departments and the cooperation partners at home and abroad.
  
  
• Course fees for teacher training
  80, - € per day per teacher, plus scripts and material
  Minimum group size: 12 persons
  
  
• Course fees for vocational education and training
  100, - € per day per person, Incl. Script, and materials
  Minimum number: 8
  
  
• Course fees for all other groups
  100, - € per day per person, Incl. Script, and materials
  Minimum number: 8

The youth hostel has a total capacity of Göttingen 142 beds.
With the line 6 bus you reach the youth hostel from the city. XLAB can be reached with the bus line 5 from the station "Auditorium".

The Jugendgästehaus der Stadt Göttingen (youth guesthouse of the town of Göttingen) is located at the periphery of Göttingen.
The basic house offers 32 beds. It can be reached by bus (line 9).
